Health and Safety performance and procedures are paramount to ensuring that our site is safe for everyone. All of our employees are fully qualified and certificated in health and safety issues and training is a continuing process.

Our site is covered by radioactive scrap detectors which ensure that processed scrap metal is not contaminated by exposure to radioactive material.

Duty Of Care concerns any person passing their scrap metal waste onto a third party. In receipt of your scrap metal, we are fully licensed and authorised to recycle and dispose of it safely and provide a Waste Transfer Note or Hazardous Waste Consignment Note.

WEEE Directive logo

The WEEE Directive aims to reduce the amount of electrical/electronic goods being produced throughout the EU, as sales of such increase in developing countries.

It sets targets for the collection, recycling and recovery of electrical/electronic goods and places responsibility for the disposal on manufacturers.

Electrical/electronic goods contain substances that can be highly toxic if allowed to escape into the environment and so the directive encourages everyone from homes to businesses to reuse, recycle and recover them, improving environmental performance and minimising the negative effects of disposal by landfill.

Please note: we are currently unable to accept electrical materials from businesses/traders.

The ELV Directive aims to reduce the amount of waste from vehicles when they are disposed of and to encourage vehicle owners to do this correctly.

In the UK, around two million vehicles reach the end of their life each year. These vehicles are classed as hazardous waste until they have been fully treated. The ELV directive requires treatment sites to meet stricter environmental standards, to issue the last vehicle owner with a Certificate of Destruction and to allow them free disposal.

Cartakeback logo

As members of Cartakeback.com and as an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF), we are fully licensed to recycle end of life vehicles and issue official DVLA Certificates of Destruction (COD).

Please note: without a COD you could be heavily fined or held liable if any illegal activities are carried out in the vehicle.
