OUR HISTORY

T.Holmes & Co has been an established Scrap Metal Merchants for over 100 years. It was formally owned by a local Keighley man named Tommy Holmes.

In 1993, Michael Galloway became the new owner.

Michael has worked in the Scrap Metal trade almost all of his life, having started out as a very young apprentice for his father Everett Galloway (left).

And then E.Galloway & Son Ltd was born.

Together Michael and his father ran this company and amongst their employees were family members and good friends.

When Michael moved to T.Holmes & Co, he took some of these employees with him.

Upon the move, he not only retained the trading name 'T.Holmes & Co', but he also retained a portion of the original workforce, some of whom still work for T.Holmes & Co today.

Soon after the move came the addition of new family members to the workforce, including his wife Gina, his son Michael and his daughter Rachel.

Since 1993, not only has the workforce expanded, but the yard and its activities have grown considerably too.

Plant, machinery, transport and all other equipment have continuously been upgraded to keep pace with scrap metal processing and recycling demands.
